With regards to Farak's comments: 1st, Hitler and the others you mention were not void of religion. Some were polytheistic and others were monotheistic and Alexander thought HE was divine. Indeed according to many scholars the Quaran claims Alexander to be a muslim....although this is thought to be a historical inacurracy on the part of the Quaran. 2nd, not all western women are half naked. Just because we show our faces so we are thought of as people and not just property doesn't mean we are all running a-muck. As far as modesty as protection is concerned....hog-wash. According to many Muslims women can't go anywhere or do anything without the permission of the men who basically own them. They have no real voice. They have no real choice. This is why there are so called 'honour' killings. This is not equality, nor are these statements racist....they are fact. You cannot deny the existance of honour killings. You cannot deny that Muslim women do not share the same freedoms as Muslim men

Stumbled upon this accidentally and didn't finish reading, but I'm wondering whether you were joking in calling the Toronto Star "Fox North." The Star is generally centre-leftish. As an example, they endorsed the NDP in the 2011 federal election. Of course, they have a variety of writers and Heather Mallick, as far as I can tell, is hard to pin down ideologically.

Salam All,

This is in response to the comment from Abdirizak and all of the above. I have been able to obtain both a business loan for my personal use and a residental loan for my brother through Ijara Loans. They offered me a friendly and easy service. It was really refreshing knowing I am riba free. Please look into it, I would definitely recommend their service,(http://www.ijaracanada.com/).

Nice article. It just goes to show that the Canadians are becoming the 51st state and simply espousing the same vile intolerance being seen south of the border. The women praying there haven't complained, so why do non-Muslims think they have a right to complain as though the women can't speak up. Unfortunately, we segregate for a good reason. So our women aren't half naked and being used by the media to promote everything from after shave to beer and then women wonder why they're aren't taken seriously. We have modesty, not as a means to suppress women, but to treat them with respect and give them the equal status they deserve. Just because the brain is placed above the heart, doesn't make it superior.

As to Kasia's comment. How shorted sighted are you? Vikings, Hitler, Genghis Khan, Alexander the Great, The Roman Empire, the Chinese Dynasties to name but a few were all irreligious people but caused wide spread carnage.

It's actually pride built into man that seeks fame, fortune, wealth, status through any means possible, Previously it was through violence and now it's accumulation of wealth through any means possible. What religion teaches is to control our desires, and pride and have patience during testing times, not to seek revenge when we are unjustly dealt with. However, as no one actually seeks to find the true message of God and simply follows blindly the teaching of their fore fathers, they have no real belief, it's just an acknowledgement and respect of the family customs. The truth is there, it has to be searched and found, then you will understand what our purpose is.

As for you Ismat and you're personal life. Well, it's not my business, but I foresee a train wreck.

There should be no religion in any public building, on any campus, in any educational institution, in any government facility, or in public anywhere whatsoever. Religion has no place in society any longer. In fact, Religion is not good for society. Mental Health Professionals have nearly concluded that religion, or mass delusion, is a mental disorder. It requires therapy, not acceptance as a legitimate belief. And then there is the other side of the coin: the profound intolerance and hate that religion teaches. Islam has killed upward of 500 million people in 14 centuries. Christianity has killed about 1/5 that many. And while estimates for the numbers killed by Buddhists in Tibet and other regions, and by Hindus (largely Muslims who invaded India nearly a millenia ago) are high but inconclusive, one thing is clear: religions promote violence, whether directly or indirectly. The days of religion are over if we want peace, prosperity, and freedom for all.

Why must everything be objectified and analyzed to the point of offense? It is a clever and well-made ad, regardless of your personal bias. Sometimes a lollipop is just a lollipop: an aesthetic focus that effectively centers ANY advertisement. Let's stop blaming victims and punishers and appreciate creative freedom on occasion, please.

Hi great article on the art of cologne wearing. I wont say I'm a consur of cologne, but I do enjoy smelling good and attracting the opposite sex. I love Chanel's Egoiste Platinum for office and going out. For more sporty events in the day I like to wear Lacoste. Living in AZ the citrus smell of the cologne goes well tih my skin. Im really looking into buying something that is what I like to call a game changer cologne. I've read many articles on Creed Green Irish Tweed but dont know if spending that kind of money on cologne is worth it. Can you or anyone give me any info on this cologne?
