The big day is here! The world is watching today’s vote for President of the USA with great anticipation. Citizens of the world look at Obama’s potential presidency as the second coming of Jesus. It is almost as if electing Barack Obama will lead to eliminating world famine, allow affordable HIV drugs into Africa, bring peace to the Middle East, and (gasp!) restore America’s moral authority without closing Guantanamo Bay.
Yet, many international viewers who are locking their channels on CNN (or Al-Jazeera) today are unable to decipher the mechanics of how a President is elected in the USA. Do people vote directly for president or do they vote for the party? Is it a count of number of voters? Number of states? What exactly is an ‘electorate?
Many questions indeed, and I believe the folks at CommonCraft.com have one of the best explained answers out there – in plain English.

Very intereting and benefitial thank you for uploading such nice simple information.
Hi, reading your blog and, a bit cheeky I know, wondered if you might agree to contribute a comment on my post below about 0% Gross Domestic/National Product, business and the environment. It’s set to go wider.
