Gary, this blog also saw an unprecedented spike in traffic due to this video.

I read today that the channel that hosted the competition (to produce a ‘Top 10′ list for Letterman to visit Nova Scotia) had planned to collect all (top?) submissions and send them to Letterman. Perhaps the decision makers were waiting for this to happen before releasing their videos online and diluting the impact. But that’s only a guess…

I agree with your post and wonder myself why the government didn’t promote such an excellent video.

I posted this video on my site yesterday and saw a big jump in traffic. It really speaks to the advantages of YouTube and other social media sharing sites.
