Nova Scotia Humanitarians To Direct Kenyan Orphanage – Climb For Funds

2 people – 6 days – 5895 meters – $15,000 to help the children of East Pokot, Kenya.

Jeff Britton, 29, and Jenny Walker, 26, are no strangers to international travel. However, coordinating a fund raising project receiving international attention is something new for both Nova Scotian humanitarians. In January 2008, the young couple will leave Halifax, Nova Scotia relocating to Nakuru, Kenya for five months where they will volunteer as co-directors at the International Humanity Foundation (IHF)’s Kenyan orphanage housing fifty-three young children. In addition to running the day-to-day operations of the orphanage, Jeff and Jenny plan to develop educational programs for the children, and look forward to coordinating community based programs including monthly ‘famine feeds’ for the tribesmen and women of the Kenyan East Pokot region.

As a fund raiser, Jenny & Jeff have begun training to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, and the tallest free-standing mountain rise in the world. They hope to raise $15,000 by January 14th from individual, corporate and community donations which fund their projects in Kenya. Click on the image below to visit www.Climbing4Kenya.com.
