Latest update:

President of Heritage Trust, Philip Pacey, said it is 'highly unlikely' his group will take the developers to court to appeal the approval of the $80 Million Waterfront development.

Finally! We now have royal blessing for the first time in 9 years, albeit reluctantly.

"Pacey told councillors Tuesday his group objected to blocking off the view of George's Island and the project's use of stone. He also said wind studies have not yet been done. The project received unanimous support on Tuesday night from Halifax regional councillors. Asked if the objections could bring about an appeal, Pacey was originally reluctant to respond. "I would think it is unlikely, highly unlikely. I have not heard anything that would suggest that," Pacey said. "The truth is, this is a development with a lot of very good things about it." Any appeal would have to be made by the board, he said."
