New Trade Deals Give Canadians More Skiing Options

Ok, so the Tory machine is working overtime to make sure everyone knows that “we, the new government of Stephen Harper, make things happen”.

Today the Federal Trade Minister announced that Canada finally signed trade agreements with Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Liechtenstein (I had to look this last one up, turns out it’s a tiny German-speaking municipality that’s more of a skiing resort than a country. Kudos Tories! You struck gold there.)

Unfortunately, the agreement will reduce tariffs on a sliding scale over a 15 (fifteen) year period, and the reduction won’t start for another 3 years while trade stakeholders ‘prep themselves’. So don’t expect any personal, business, or national benefit in your immediate lifetime.
